Hi, I’m Ashley. I’m a conversation designer and UX writer who moonlights as a freelance food and travel writer. Currently, I’m the Principal Conversation Designer for AI Assistants at Walmart, training Sparky to help users shop smarter. Since 2023, I’ve been training LLMs and designing conversational experiences. I was briefly at Meta, training Meta AI. Prior to that, I spent a year at Google training Gemini for safety. Before specializing in AI, I was at Instagram for nearly four years as a help center content strategist, focused on security, safety, and policy content.

I’m always hungry and am down to travel just about anywhere. My writing has appeared in Bon Appétit, Lucky Peach, AFAR, NPR, Munchies, Eater, the San Francisco Chronicle, and others. I’ve also contributed to two Lucky Peach cookbooks.

I sometimes dabble in writing about feminism, health, and social issues, too. You can also find me working closely with photography and design teams throughout the creative process, giving art direction to anyone who will listen.

Originally from New York, I now live in San Francisco where I miss bagels, pizza, and snow days.
